>>>I have the impression this won't happen with an internet "button," but rather through your PC banking hookup. So -- I'm thinking its up to your local bank.

Brooks I don't have it in front of me here, but AEP sent a flyer in last months bill saying that we were either to go to their site or Checkfrees to get our bills. Not one mention of going my Bank.

FWIW.

Now it's my understanding that you & I can choose our bill consolidator. You've been seeing the same download message I've been seeing in Quicken 98, 'getting online bills'. This leads me to believe everybody and their brother is going to be in on this.

For Example. I set up Quicken to grab my AEP & GTE Bills, and My wifes' JC Penny which looks like that could be comming in from MSFDC.

Now after I've got my billings...when I push that pay button...that fee goes to Intuit/Checkfree, all of it?

When the Bill was dilivered the respective 'bill' publishers [checkfree/msfdc] got paid for putting the bill up.

We're talking Millions/Billions of transactions getting chopped up into piece rate. IMO.

Now as I see it...If Intuit is consolidating bills...I guess if you don't have Quicken98 you could go to your Bank and perform the same function. [linking incomming msfdc & checkfree bills] Then paying them on site.

So if this is all possible, than it is the banks themselves who will bid up the next round of the cyber-turf pricing. Just like the e-brokers have just completed doing. And Cyber-Turf aka Yahoo!/Lycos/Excite & InfoSeek are going to take their cut.

So Wake up Banks!....better buy some Cyber-Turf...and get a button ...before the price goes up . Take out food is already up to $15Million a Site.
