That's the thing. The left has moved on from "equality of opportunity" to "equality of outcomes."

if you were to use Advanced Search on SI .. plug in me as poster and this as criteria 'equality of outcomes'

you would see numerous posts as this...

Message 32753484 Sure I am more at home on Lib threads due to social issues.. but I am a fiscal conservative.. Taxes fine.. but show me the value... That is always the trouble.. Some folks do not understand that there is not an endless supply of real money.. that castrating the producers leaves us with no one producing .. no incentive to progress... and we have nothing .. If anything the lesson of the Soviet Union proves that communism does not work.. it simply produces inefficiencies and accumulated the wealth that remains in even fewer hands... That said Socialism and communism are NOT the same.. Good public ed/healthcare and a likely a UBI of some type are needed IMO going forward.. we had a program called workfair in Ontario. The one good thing the Harris tories (Conservatives) put in IMO.. yet it offended the sensibilities of some.. You get the dole but if you are able bodied.. you work at something.. you contribute something for it... Pretty sure that was tried on your end also.. No idea why it does not work.. it should...

Why should BLM find any middle ground anyway
so BLM is going the way of religion, government, unions etc etc.. good ideas get perverted by us humans all the time .. what is to become of us ? I lived the 60s etc.. good did come from that.. then look at how many Liberal boomers fell into the trap of the Mojo Nixon tune :)

Yes I am a capitalist :)

I don't support equality of outcomes; only equality of opportunity. That is why I am a strong proponent of free college education tuition for children of families of four earning under 125K a year. Give everyone the opportunity to succeed and let the chips fall as they may. Talent and skill will rule after the opportunity is given.

I have never known an abstract, cold-hearted libertarian support real equality of opportunity; it costs too much money for their abstract principles. In the end, when all is said and done, libertarians don't give a chit about anybody but themselves. They are inhumane assholes who are anti-compassion, anti-society, with a philosophy of Fuck You, I made it, you can too if you try hard enough.

In life, one often gets what one gives and libertarians give very little except a lot of BS.
