Rarebird,
I have never known an abstract, cold-hearted libertarian support real equality of opportunity; it costs too much money for their abstract principles.
The fact that you think libertarianism is incompatible with real equality of opportunity says a lot about what you think "real equality of opportunity" is.

Free college? Give me a break, not everyone needs to go to college. Two year "free" community college is fine, but when you extend that to four year universities offering useless degrees in gender studies and interpretive dance art, that's a complete waste. You're not equalizing opportunities at this point. You're just giving away freebies at taxpayer expense.

Besides, we already fund free K-12 education. Even libertarians don't propose eliminating that, though we do support school choice and charter schools.

To you, however, "equality of opportunity" can never happen unless the government gives away freebies, which is stupid.
