Same here iso.............two places, both on one acre lots, one waterfront...........approx $2000 yr. for both. The one acre lot down in the big city was almost $7 grand when we moved. We'd much rather spend the savings on our family and travel than give it to Socialist King Co. Wa.

Another reason we like living here is low property taxes. About $1,150/yr. for this home, 29 surface acres & mineral rights on over 100. About 40% of what we paid in Columbus, Oh. blurb in 2007 for smaller house on 2/3 of an acre.

I'm paying over $6K on a very modest home I purposely downsized to 5 years ago on about 1.5 acres in Dutchess County NY................upscale homes ($350+K) on a few acres pay over $12K in taxes.....it's just nuts here......and people are flocking up here from the city just to get out.........they think they are getting a bargain........still, I enjoy the rural character with close proximity to everything I need and the 4 seasons...........and I have the property planted as I've always wanted.................. Moving now would just set me back for years that I just don't have left.
