Gosh. It looks to me like the S&P has replaced the global gold standard, the world's derivatives-backed securities are tied to it. So we prop it up with derivatives and let it slowly oscillate around some mean value while we devalue the dollar and drop interest rates to make it adjust to the rest of the world. Slowly, of course. I guess devaluation of the dollar is the next crisis after the mexican peso crumbles, so we have canada-mexico-US as trading partners with equal currency handicaps. Weird. I'm so confused %(
PS glad I went long this morning. Follow the brokerage stocks, they tell all.
