You have to look at Sweden's recent numbers to see that their strategy has worked. They took the hit upfront and now it appears to be over. Only a handful of serious cases since the end of July and their society is wide open. Their population is no longer suffering from the economic, psychological, and other medical problems that come from lockdowns

It looks like Newsom wants it to drag out forever here. Do not forget that they have been trying to develop a proficient vaccine against corona viruses since 2005 and so far, they have failed.

And once again, the problems are always concentrated with the elderly who have comorbidites.

And recent Swedish deaths are few and far between. Some days none. Other days one. Maybe two at the most.

Whereas here? Not the case.

It'd be very interesting to get some data on CFR for wealthy/powerful old men.

Here are some that survived:
  • Boris Johnson
  • Jair Bolsanaro
  • Amitabh Bachchan (over 70)
  • Donald Trump (over 70, obese)
  • Chris Christy (obese, asthmatic)

It appears CFR might be *much lower* among those who can afford top notch care.
