The direct injection of phentolamine ALONE will NOT produce erections - PERIOD. Oral phentolamine does NOT produce erections.

Zonagen would disagree with you Bill, the cool thing is--They're the ones that get to present their data to the FDA! Too bad you don't get to too!

Blood levels are not a red herring, they are the basis for all of the research(no need to respond Bill I get your point) that Zonagen has spent all of this time and money to bring to bear.

They claim their drug produces erections Bill, are you calling them liars? Are you calling all of the people who participated in the trials liars? Are you saying that their questionare wasn't about whether you had an erection but whether or not you liked hypotension? Are you saying that SGP looked at the trial data and said "nope, phentolamine doesn't produce erections, but here's 10 million bucks anyway!"? Are you saying, as an ED certified CPA, that it is not possible at all, for oral phentolamine to produce erections?

I'm just giving you greif, you don't have to answer my questions, I won't hound you to the end of the thread with repetitive posts that drive you nuts like saying the same thing over and over again just to make you crazy like reading a very long sentence that has nothing to do with anything like most of my posts that are just a rehash of what other people have said although for the life of me I cannot figure out how they will ever be able to market phentolamine in the current formulation because any pharmacist can just press out a pill speaking of pills did you know that that Imhof guy discovered a rapidly dissolving formulation of phentolamine in 1975? I think that's pretty cool.

I didn't think you could.
Guess I was correct after all.

Much has been made of Schering's involvement with Zonagen, and statement such as "Do you really think they didn't do their due diligence" are presented with the hopes that some will infer that ZONA is a can't miss proposition. Yesterday, another partner of Schering's, CORR, took a major hit because their drug wasn't approved for the angina market. While receiving approval for the angioplasty market, this is a much smaller market, and will result in much less revenue.

I guess that Schering is not god like in it's assesments of a biotech's potential after all.

Bill, as a physician,I must concur 100% with your post. I have no idea how Dr Rubin, after opening up the American Hospital Formulary Service Drug compendium on all his hospital floors, all the Crdiology and Pharmacology textbooks published the last 15 years and reading them( as he should, as an alleged Internist) about phentolamine, can still go out long on this company in the ABSENCE of ANY MENINGFULL SCIENTIFIC DATA.
Such a wonderfull world............
