<Kevin, Jim: I'm with Stockman on this one...Jerry is the problem. If you look at the big picture, the problem is not yields, but basic business strategy. By taking on Intel on price/volume and you don't have the capabilities to compete, it doesn't take a genius to figure out what's going to happen>

I agree completely. Jerry Sanders has used AMD shareholders to finance his personal vendeta against Intel. Enhancing shareholder value has never been the objective, enhancing Jerry's ego has been the only objective. AMD can't compete in this league and shareholders are the only losers. Jerry has siphened off millions is options and perks and left the shareholders to hold the bag. Wake up and smell the garbage.

Joey, You and the rest of the stock morons would be back sodering wire to tin cans to talk to each other if it were not for Jerry Sanders bringing down the cost of CPU's Intel would keep the price out of your pocket's reach. The only thing that will be replaced will be your Intel margin calls from your brokers.

Joey,

RE:If you look at the big picture, the problem is not yields, but basic business strategy.

Yields ARE the industry. Either you make the product at a lower or approximate cost, or you lose money and this is a function of yields.

I have no idea if AMD can solve their production problems, but they are a profitable company IF they do. The major problem is assigning a probability to that. It's impossible to do and this uncertainty is why the stock is where it is.
