Family Feud
or
68 vs 40 / 108

Whether or not a poll reveals anything meaningful, ever, is open to argument.
Any fan of Family Feud will recognize that 40 is probably a number one answer.
The question for that number of answers might be "Name something orange?"
But when there is a tiebreaker and they only want 1 answer, they need a 68 question.
A question like "What colour are fire trucks?"
So 68 is pretty good out of a possible 108.

The real problem is that there is no third political party.
America could use a third political party, call it the MAGATS.
The idolizers need a place they can call home.
Any repudiation of Trump by the Republicans is much too late.
Even now those who idolize the orange idiot still think that this is the flu.
A quarter of a million dead in months and still they bow and scrape.
The whole thing has become quite macabre but Fauci is indomitable.
The flood of bird bile continues and grows.
More deaths are coming up and it is getting much worse in many places.
The Atlas plan of herd immunity calls for hundreds of millions to catch corona, it is pure idiocy.
The administration plan is pitting Atlas against real doctors but Birx won't play.
The federal government has become a bad rerun of The Apprentice.
And Americans die die die.
This Halloween is real.

I was reading an article where it said that in a poll about who they trusted about COVID, 68% trusted what Fauci was saying and about 40% trusted Trump. I find it incredulous that only 68% trust Fauci and as much as 40% trusted Trump.

I think you know who the 40% are.

As for Fauci, 68% is about my trust level. He has been distancing himself more recently, so maybe somewhat higher lately, but early on he made a number of statements I personally recall that were either wrong or indefensible, IMHO. He stated early on that masks were not necessary for the general population--just for healthcare workers--at a time I am 100% sure he knew that was not true (Don't have exact date handy.) I know the reasoning, that healthcare workers deserved "first dibs" on the masks, but that statement was indefensible to me.

Secondly, he stated a number of times that we would have a vaccine by the end of November or by the end of the (this) year. He certainly knew at that time that anything approved in that time interval would not have proven safety and efficacy. I will cut him a very little bit of slack on this one because now it at least appears possible that a vaccine may be approved by yearend, but the very limited supply (if any) is not at all what he was inferring in those earlier statements.

I don't mean to be too hard on him, as he was under a lot of pressure, but I still parse what he says carefully.

Needless to say, my trust in the other in the poll is a negative number.
