With the news of iPhone 12 having a USI moniker on their mmwave antenna package it's all still a bit confusing.

Qualcomm worked closely with ASE (USI parent) (ie Taiwan's 5G Research Center) on mmwave AIP so one has to suspect there being a joint arrangement for the use of each parties RF expertise.

This might be the most relevant hint of trouble on this front.
