Hi DB,

Exactly NO ethynol in my old cars. I live about 7 miles from road America so I have access to race fuel all year around. One local convenience station even has a "leaded" gas pump. Any car before 1975 ran leaded gas to cool the combustion. He adds an additive that costs $600.00 an underground tank. I tried it in my Stihl weed whacker and darn near ruined it - took me three tanks of good fuel to get it back to idle.

We have what is called Recreational gas no ethanol, that mixed with synthetic oil for two strokes works great.

I bought a high Dollar Stihl back blower( on it was a sticker "USE NO ETHANOL" Now I don't have to run the engines out of fuel, which can score the cylinder walls.

Pretty much now all I run in two strokes is premixed bought by the gallon can. If you buy a several hundred dollar tool $14.00 a gallon that lasts 1/3 of the summer is cheap insurance.

When I raced Yamaha motorcycles I mixed Aviation gas with Klotz nitro additive and Yamaha 2 stroke oil. I'd put in as much Nitro just to the point that it would not knock and ping when I had the bike wide open throttle going up a hill.

I have several old cars and I buy the old style leaded gas and or race gas and add STABIL to both. Any engine that has 10 to 1 compression or greater , I use racing fuel.

Ethanol in a holley carb will destroy the float bowl gaskets and dry to a white corrosion powder. I screwed up a $1000 dolar Demonizer carb and learned the hard way. erg

If one has an old car or gasoline combustion engine - it is just really good advice to start them and let them run till warm during winter storage, helps get moisture out of the covertor and muffler as well.

Sadly all of the above,I've earned the hard way.

When I restore an old chevy, The last thing I do is add oils and gasoline.

Everything I have a battery in, I also have a battery tender on. Battery and Bulbs sell them for 20-30 bucks and it triples the life of my harleys and atv batteries.

My generator is a four stroke and I run the generator out of gas after each last use.

Bob
