Now it is a struggle between buyback and shorters. Who will win? Will shorters give up and buy back all shares. That mean 4.5M shorts + 3.5M share buyback= 8M shares of CYMI buy, not including other institutional buyings.

from Briefing.com:

Cymer Inc. (CYMI) 15 1/4: --UPDATE-- shares of manufacturer of
photolithography equipment to be volatile today as DLJ downgrades the
issue from "buy" to "market perform" on concerns over Asia following the company's warnings that 1Q earnings to be $0.10 to $0.15 below 4Q on lower revenues; however, Morgan Stanley upgrades its rating from "neutral" to "outperform" and recommends buying on weakness as its sets a price target of $21 a share.....

Looks like the news is "good".

Discover said it raised its rating on Cymer Inc to outperform
from neutral.
-- Cymer's near-term weakness reflects a crescendo of

above-average long-term gains.
