It is surperisely low to me, which means most of the shorts have covered so that no short squeeze would happened in short time. However, I belive that MM shorts would not be included in that nubmer. Keep shorting untill single digital. GERN has no hope to jump in short time. Look at the ORG and ATIS, both of them have the products been approvaled by FDA but both of them went down from the open.
