Joyce,
I think you are right in that a large part of what we are NOT seeing is the buyers doing. Not Radicas. Every time I talk to a dept. manager, it's the same story. They are waiting to see what gets sent to them. They yell and scream for larger orders but it seems like they have to wait for their stores rotational turn to get 18 more to run out in a couple of days time. I would think that Radica would make and sell them if they are ordered but if the stores are missing out on the demand and not ordering them in the quantities they should, then who's falt is it? Sure would hate to see the things pile up on the shelfs due to demand being met. This is all a great sign for 2nd half of the year keeping with past trends of sales IMO. Gary is correct as usual, Radica has a great team and has been on the ball as to what they are doing. Clock work for continued strong sales into 1999.

I still maintain also that there is something amiss in the system...can't pin it down to either the store, buyer, or Radica supplying.
Visited big Toys R US...They were well stocked, but NO kids bass and haven't carried it. Plenty of the other games, vision games, some shortages on battleship but rest of the mix was good.
Then there is Target that has has 4!slots ready for tank and sub since just after christmas and still NOTHING...and they are not sold out, they haven't got any. However, all Lunkers sold out, many kids and bass are selling well.
Big Walmart has good selection of everything, but no deep sea. I talked with the floor person for quite a while and she was very confident in the continued sales of the fishing games. They have been steady sellers, although not at prechristmas levels...of course.
Tank and sub doing well...most of the casino games with decent stock, but battleship and yahtzee out of stock.
She had given a bass fishing to her father, a fisherman, and "he sits there and plays with it for hours".
I wish I had a better handle on what it was like at this time last year and whether or not this is normal, better, or worse. Of course the best thing is that there is more shelf space than ever before, but that will only pay off if it's got something in it. I would worry some that Tiger and MGA, since they both have some big guns would start to take back slots that are unoccupied such as the case in Target.
We don't want to lose the valuable space we have gained.
So as to this quarter I don't know if it will be as good as expected, although certainly it will come through better than last year. But is this good enough? Hope so.
chris

Joyce that is probably true.....but the bottom line...is missed sales
equal less earnings...David will see a lot of posts when he returns from New Years break...hopefully he will remedy this situation....and the toy show in New York......that should be soon....who knows the dates?......should help also.
