I don't usually comment on politics on this thread, but the ONLY essential service I DEMAND from my government is a well funded police force that will answer my calls when I need them most. The Democrats are for Defund the Police. This is batshit crazy. In Minneapolis, they are regretting their decision to defund. Government doesn't do a damn thing for me, so I prefer a very small government. But policing is the one service I'd pay taxes for willingly. Any party against the police is a party that does not represent the only thing I want from the government.
