My interest in ascertaining whether there is fighting in the Kassala area goes somewhat beyond the pipeline. Two fairly close relatives (wife and daughter) are at this moment en route to Um Kuraa near the Ethiopian border.

Thus my interest in pursuing your unattributed comment that "there is fighting in Kassala...." Is this simply a pickup of the sophomoric propaganda postings that fill the Sudan discussion thread?
