"LOL, Joe Biden and leaders of other countries announced "net zero" targets, and all of a sudden the "goals of the Paris accord are 'within reach.'" The goal for Paris was 1.5 degrees, and this says 2.1, so, no, not in reach. I think I've said in the past that I don't think we can hold it to 2 degrees, so 2.1 would be nice. Can Calif be carbon-free by '50, or have a carbon-free grid by '45? Maybe, but it won't be EZ. Can the US do it, or have Biden's carbon-free grid by '35? No. "We're not going to get there with promises, conservation, and technologies that are less efficient but more 'green'." You can keep the promises, but we'll also need money.
