I have been studying Bitcoin for the last 2 years but have not ventured into buying any.

gold is my substitute for bonds in my portfolio to hedge stocks and a possible fiat calamity.
So I am wondering if BitCoin also fits into that category? I listened to a hedge fund manager that is now 100% in Bitcoin. He explained he macro views and how Bitcoin (or some blockchain 'world' currency) may/could be the new currency where all transaction are done (over 3 Trln transacted each day in the currency market).

What he discussed on a macro level made a lot of sense to me but trying to implement that (via the Central Banks) to me seems really hard. He did say, he thinks that the US Dollar will no longer be the currency of choice (ie Petro Dollar).

I would like to see a blockchain type New $US dollar backed by US assets, minerals, Federal Land, Gold and indexed by our GDP. Basically a basket of US Federal Assets indexed by our GDP and something US citizens and US companies can hold and have no fear that it will lose value based on what some Central Banks decides is correct for the US and/or the World.

I do think there is/will be some change we transition into and not sure how/when that will occur.
