No fee on Schwab IRA transfer to Waterhouse. I just completed one. (IMHO the Waterhouse online software (non-internet) is not as clunky as Schwab's; clearly the Waterhouse internet interface could use improvement but it is tolerable). The Waterhouse $25 termination fee for an IRA is clearly stated in my account agreement; perhaps it should be more prominent in other materials -- I could not find it in the brochure. But your next custodian may well pick up that fee in order to get your account. -- Shoe
