Jeff:

I follow these threads, and participate on them as a "core member" because I like the communal effort of researching and learning. I have my own methods of doing fundamental analysis and from time to time I do share that with the group here. I have learned much from the members who participate in the 56 efforts. I trust their judgements and know many of their individual motivations. I have an advantage there because I have met a large number of them personally. To blindly accuse a group of individuals spread all over the US of working together to defraud new investors is wrong. Each of us have our reasons for participating on the 56 threads. Some of us want to learn TA, some to learn FA, some to learn what the markets are like, some to learn what buying and selling stocks is like.

I have done well with some of the picks here, not so well with others. Each buy and sell has been my own decision and not because a recommendation was issued on the 56 threads. I don't have a rebuttal to your arguments about traditional TA and whether it works on low dollar stocks or not. I do know that I know a hell of a lot more about looking at charts and TA than I did when I first came here. I have met Doug and sat in on one of his classes for 8 hours. He didn't get paid for giving the class I went to. He knows what he is doing and his forecasts based on TA have worked on many of his selections. Its almost scary as to how accurate it can be.

The individuals on this and the remaining 56 threads have honest intentions of working together to recognize potential stocks to follow. I am sure that a lot of people feed off the work of the posters here without doing any of their own work. You can't seperate the hype from the quality stock if you don't do your own background work and check out whether what is being said is correct or not. Anyone who follows blindly is going to loose more often than they win. My reputation and the reputation of most of the core group is that we do our due diligence before we post any comments on a stock. That doesn't mean we are going to be right all of the time. But that doesn't mean that we are collaborating as a group to take the new investors money away from them. Theres only one poster on these boards that I know that has admitted to trying to take our money so he could live a life better than the rest of us... and that was Christopher Smith .... our "Market Maker Friend".
