Wink, Michael Schaefer puts out a newsletter entitled "Outstanding Investments in the Natural Resource Sector". His newsletter used to be called Global Gold Stock Report. Mike is not as well known as Bishop, Day, and Casey but he has called some good shots in the jr. oils such as Ultra Petroleum and Range Petroleum and others. He changed the name of his newsletter to reflect the expanded scope of his newsletter. The last newsletter featured two companies...Westrend and K2 Energy. Both are outstanding speculations IMO.

hi wink

totally correct as keith utz stated...

michael schaefer's "outstanding investments- hot stock fax alert" was actually dated january 19, 1998.

schaefer states that he has dropped ultra as one of his picks as he feels the doubling potential of ultra is outweighed by the possible ten for one shot westrend (and k2) has in the next 12 - 24 months

schaefer identifies the existing bottleneck in the o & g servicing industry, and documents the situation whereby 'superior auction and appraisers' which are apparently the biggest auctioneer of used oil service equipment in the southwest, ran an auction last year on a used 1981 rig which sold to some russian oilers for 1.2 million$. as we all know, the taylor drill rig manufacturing arm of wrn can build these same rigs for 800k, new. as such, schaefer said that 'superior' has contacted taylor to auction future rigs.

mr. schaefer goes on to do some calculations and states that the taylor division of westrend alone is worth 0.47$CND after taxes, and that the company is worth much more, as its current share price does not factor in its expansion potential, or its other related revenue sources.

that being said, does anyone know why there was the huge volume spike friday? was the schaefer newsletter sent out a second time to another group of investors? was there any block trades? or was something else going on?

thanks in advance...
