Steve, The bowwow works now, at least temporarily, so I am now a 2 computer family. The problem has been the inability of Compaq to recognize the problem and the inability of CompUSA to fix it over a period of three months. A new modem, a new power supply and a new face plate fixed it. The problem was getting CPQ techs who speak Phonoecian and arrogant CPU techs to agree on the problem and how to proceed. Part of the mess was that CompUSA disagreed with Compaq and Compaq refused to hold their feet to the fire. And, of course, Compaq taking forever to get parts across town. MB
