My first foray into AI was to try to beat the line with football betting. Never succeeded. Looked at all sorts of things - neural networks were new - and I figured that sports betting would be less likely to have opacity than Wall Street. Clearly there were things that I didn't know - what the health condition was of specific players, for instance. Some things are speculative - like home field advantage, weather performance, choke factor - that kind of thing.
