Andrew Ross Sorkin, Here's Your Bitcoin Bear Case: $0
Dec. 17, 2020 2:15 PM ET

Summary

The idea that a cryptocurrency should have any value at all, as a currency, is absurd.

If you bought a tulip in 1637, at least you got a tulip. If you buy a Bitcoin or equivalent, you get nothing. Not even a fraction of a tulip.

Bitcoin is fundamentally worthless as the fiat currency that it criticizes. That’s one of the many paradoxes about it.

Unlike Bitcoin, gold is a real thing. It’s been proven for 5,000 years. Normal people actually know what it is.

Bitcoin has gone to the moon and could go to Mars before people wake up and realize that it's worth exactly $0.

Bitcoin miners maintain the block chain but how do they communicate?

If I have a Bitcoin transaction in my pocket that I want to add to the blockchain how do I do that?

Is there a special master BTC IP address? DNS name?

I believe there will be a drawdown, commencing today. BTC, RIOT, GBTC, and ARKW to get hit. Then, next year, who knows.

I thought TSLA would crash and burn after I made highly profitable sales, but it turns out that I left money on the table.

Best guess: Whales want to cash in. Why not? BTC makes highly-dangerous TSLA look like Procter & Gamble.

Who knows.

Bought RIOT LEAP calls 1.21.23 strike 15 a few weeks ago at 5.81. Today, 9.40

Holding XOM calls 1.21.22 strike 37.50 bought at 4.51. Today, 7.75.

Bought Boeing LEAP calls1.20.23 strike 350 at 29.51. Today, 22.65.

Holding USO calls 6.18.21 strike 27 bought at 4.11. Today, 7.125

Bought APPN LEAP calls 1.20.23 strike 120.00 at 54.01. Today, 56.00.

Only loser so far is the one I expect to be eventually the most profitable, Boeing.

Looking at ways to extract profits from 5G. Already bought APPL last March at massive discount, thinking of some QCOM LEAPs.

Only constant is FNV and IAU.

My 24 year-old son’s IRA, which I manage, has an almost 300% YTD gain. He has no idea. Lol! Perhaps a printed statement will appear in his Christmas stocking.
