All of us who have been putting money into 529s for our kids are suckers, I guess.

I can't imagine a bigger moral hazard than this. Incentivize more income-depressing activity so people will send their kids to college for free. What possibly could go wrong?

what a joke.....

the "free tuition" comes with the usual catch. many of us think the so called fees currently attached to schools overall tuition are already absurd.

just wait to see the fees now. it'll get worse, much worse. currently, the SUNY tuition bill is composed of all sorts of fees that amount to 25-30% of the overall tuition bill.

get ready for things like diversity fee, social recognition fees, and some sort of race relation fee.

this is a giant green light for these schools to runaway with all sorts of fee agendas designed to cement the already absurd socialistic and marxist environments on campus.
