<<There was absolutely nothing wrong or uncomfortable about the commercial so someone was probably throwing up a smokescreen, either Vivus or NBC.>>

Mitchell, I agree. I live in the Atlanta area and quite a few local urologists advertise on TV...they are much more blunt about the problem than the Vivus ad was.

It appears from descriptions of the ad that I read that the one we are seeing now is the same one they made for the superbowl...also I can't see Vivus having multiple ads at this point.

So it begs the question...why was it turned down? Could probably be that they over committed or wanted to get another spot for a big advertiser, like Annheiser. Whatever the case, their excuse for not showing it is lame.

Neil.

To ALL:

Vivus got mentioned on p. 119 of the 2/98 issue of SmartMoney,
article about on-line trading.

A "internet trading guru" named Bruno Galliano had this to say, talking about how he trades on the net as compared to old-fashioned
full-service broker:

----
... Not that Bruno Galliano doesn't do his research. He does.
But, he laughs, it's hard for him to imagine a time when he would have asked his old stockbroker about Vivus--a California concern that develops treatments for erectile disfunction.

Explains Bruno, who picked up $20,000 of the stock with a single
click of his mouse: "Hey, I'm 63 and I'm retired, so it's something
I think about, right? Plus, I hear about it all day long from
friends of mine." With his old broker charging several hundreds
of dollars in commissions, Bruno says, "I never would've bought
that kind of company before."
----

Hmm. So buying $20 K of VVUS is not something you want to talk
to a stockbroker about. But you're willing to tell the whole
world about it in SmartMoney. This does not compute. Is there
an editor in that house?

Anyway, it's a positive mention, but stuck at the very end of the
article.

Cheers,

David
