... optical litho will probably still be used to etch 0.8micron lines. I'm sure you meant 0.08 micron. And I agree with the latter. So much for XRL taking over from optical litho, as it's future keeps getting more distant -- now at 2012? Elizabeth, what say you? Tulvio

PA, Interesting , albeit infrequent, posts. I tend to agree with your overall points that Korea will cut more than expected and that the other markets will help to absorb the shortfall. I also think that Samsung will be supported to prosper (as number 1), Hyundai to struggle, and LG to perhaps strenghten its foundry ties to Hitachi. Any comments?

BTW, perhaps you meant 80 nm and not 800nm :

<4) Still long CYMI as the long term picture remains excellent. In fact optical litho will probably still be used to etch 0.8micron lines. Sit back and relax everyone, CYMI will come through with earnings. Enjoy the slow, inexorable rise back.> ??

ALOHA posted some news article on the news thread to support the 70nm argument for optical (sorry Elizabeth)
