Those things would not be surprising at all. Here's a good video from 2 minute papers on AI playing hide and seek:



Aside from demonstrating how GAN works, it also shows how evolution could work for artificial intelligence. If there is an advantage to sleeping or entertainment (and we know that there is) then AI will eventually discover and utilize it.

BTW, there was a sci fi series long ago in which one of the main enemy groups were androids. They were originally developed to serve humans with sufficient intelligence and adaptability to be as helpful as could be expected. One day a disgruntled programmer pushed in a subtle code update that changed everything: It simply said, "Take a chance." His goal was to create random bugs in the android operations to frustrate his department. But in time it led to the evolution of the androids as fully aware machines that fought for their own self advancement and survival.
