Her lawyer, for what it's worth, says it wasn't a dress but a "long t-shirt". As for Walt Whitman, so what? He may have handed this stuff out to everybody. An apologia that may not convince, okay, but still, though I was once ready to believe he'd had it off with her, the story of the dress is genuinely disturbing, and raises the possiblity that she's simply a nutcase. Looney women DO do these things, you know, just as men do. Rumor from the White House is that her nickname was "The Stalker". (Tripp referred to this in her statement; I didn't understand at first.)

And in the end I DON'T CARE WHO HE HAS IT OFF WITH, and polls suggest that most of the nation doesn't.

A Fort Worth, Texas-area man who committed suicide has said he
regrets failing to kill his third stepchild. Donald Wayne Martin left a
audio taped suicide message after killing his wife and two of his step
children. Hood County authorities say Martin committed the murders after
learning that his wife planned to leave him. Martin's other stepson was
not at home during the kilings.

This guy died a sad man:-(
