Hi Averill, Penni, et al: Just a late-breaking freezer update. We're back in the frozen north but the freezer is frost-free and blissfully pristine. I've discovered I like it this way and shall keep it empty henceforth. We'll dine out or takeout for the remainder of the year. I was not looking forward to coming back, but the house suffered less damage than I imagined. A few minor plumbing problems and leaks, some downed trees...but the power is back (although I'm told it's relatively fragile) and the Army has departed. Many of our friends and neighbours had terrible damage. Burst pipes, fires, burnt out motors and electrical panels from improperly hooked-up generators...carbon monoxide poisoning. Huge ice dams have built up on some roofs making walking around town rather challenging. I still keep a flashlight by my side, just in case. Some doomsayers point out that the Farmer's Almanac is calling for another icestorm in our area. I'm trying not to listen, but... Since the chat is about cocktails, I think I'll make myself a Margarita sans rooster tail and dream of summer! Averill, I just heard on the news that Shimona(sp?) has recalled a defective part on their bicycles called a crank(sp)...so check it out if that's the type you have. Barb
