M.M.,

>>It's getting obvious that Monica Lewinsky was having an affair with one of Clinton's high up
staff, and not Clinton.

You're probably right. I may go into a major depression as Mr. C. beats another rap. (I have already admitted to unfair prejudice against him and an uncharacteristic Schadenfreude with hopes for his political demise regardless of guilt on this particular accusation of wrongdoing.)

I recorded those Sunday shows, but how I'm afraid to watch them. Oh thou bearer of bad news!

Jack

Interesting. There was a dress that Monica evidently told Tripp bore a dollop of Presidential DNA. It was seized along with other clothes by the FBI. Apparently there were no semen stains on anything. Lewinsky's lawyer has said Clinton gave her a "long t-shirt", but no dress.

She did, it's said, attempt to flirt with George Stephanopolous, but reports out of the White House suggest she really did throw herself at Clinton. The idea of another lover is intriguing, though. Have you read the transcript of the phone call between Tripp and Lewinsky published by Newsweek (if not, you can find it at the Washington Post site)? At one point Lewinsky refers to "the other one". Newsweek assumes she was referring to Vernon Jordan, but that wasn't my impression: only a few minutes later she speaks of Jordan as "Vernon".

And of course she also told people she was having in on with someone at the Pentagon. This person, whose name hasn't been disclosed, evidently refused to comment.

She could, of course, be making EVERYTHING up. And believing every word of her own story.

MM,
That certainly could be it. George Stephanopolous? I suppose nobody would want to jump up yelling "It was George!". They would just chuckle while a lot of people dug themselves in deeper and wait for their vindication. I noticed Dick Armey and Pat Moynihan didn't even want to talk about it this morning. Clinton could really benefit from this if it's true_

cya,
