Perhaps they think this impeachment will cow him. It's all vindictiveness.

*I still haven’t heard how THIS impeachment prevents him from running in 24.* The 14th amendment prevents anyone from holding office that was convicted of insurrection while in office. The impeachment charges Trump with incitement of insurrection. If convicted, then he cannot hold office.
