Re: The second quarter (Actually second half 98) yes I was corrected by Allen.

I see and understand your point on the benifits of Flash Ram and Memory Cards. But time will tell.

I heard arguments back in the early 90's about the HD being replaced with ram. I seen a proto type on TV. This thing was full of ram chips and cost a fortune. Take it that was a long time ago.

But I personally feel mechanical storage devices will be here for quite some time still. What ever way it goes, the consumer is the ultimate winner.

Portable being a problem?

Rocky At work I have a portable computer with antena to interface with the companys network attached to my cart. I have had this for about 2 years. it's a computer scanner (for reading bar codes) and fold down full key board. I can do E mail, track stuff and basic computer functions. They tell me it's got a 386 CPU. I belive it's a texlon 3,000 Ill look at the name more closly monday. Anywy I can run this thing while i'm driving. No protable problems with it. I think it is a special device made just for the company I work for. I had made a suggestion for something like that about 4 years ago as a way to speed up my job. Now there common at work. It's really nice to beable to do computer functions on the move. I like the the companys normal PC's much better though. The one i'm useing now is about a 233 or so cpu. windows NT with some outdated windows office stuff.
