Unfortunately, competence is no longer the issue. Those that ARE competent at what they do are seeking to eliminate conservatives, free speech and other basic freedoms.

I had little faith in govt before Trump, I now have zero faith in government. Our only option is to seek out competent people in our every day dealings, and our own self reliance Same goes for political parties. People voted for Trump, not for Republican Party. George Washington warned us 250 years ago about "the spirit of party." I say forget about the Republicans and the Democrats and any other party. Vote for the man. Or woman. I know many believe there's no way to drive the Dems out of power without confronting them with a greater power (party), but the problems we are facing are problems that are inherent in any party. "Fixing" the Republican Party, or getting a new party together, such as a new Tea Party or a MAGA party, isn't going to work. This is something we're just going to have to figure out.
