Gary,

<<On the other hand Canada's solialistic policies are what has got them where they are today.>>

<<<<Armstrong hinges a lot around 2003. He says that if Canada cleans up it's act( privatization etc.) >>

Translation ... let every multi-national come in, set up shop, and dismantle the systems we have in place - many of which are doing just fine now.

Socialistic policies? .... Where we are today? .... a budget surlpus, likely this year, next at the latest, a debt load about the same (in relative terms as the US) ... do not get me started, Gary .... to hear some of the distorted BS that spues from these ignoramuses just galls me - it is some of the most self-serving, internationally myopic diatribe I have ever heard. To hear some of these idiots, you'd think there was one degree of separation between us and Russia.

And before you tell me, I believe you are a Canadian ... if I'm right - then quit your complaining (if that is in fact what you are doing) and make application to reside in some ther country. If I am wrong (i.e, you are just quoting MA, then please except my apology)

Sorry to be so blunt, but I am no longer going to listen to the progostications of many of these individuals - ones who have agendas that have anything but Camada's best interests at heart.

"He suggests the Canadian $ will likely see .65 and .60 cents at worst. Canada is in no where near the shape that the Asian countries are in. On the other hand Canada's solialistic policies are what has got them where they are today."

Hey we like it that way: low crime, paid hospitals, functioning social network, safe cities, clean cities. City of Toronto, Ontario is being studied as a model for all urban development
in North America. If I look around my house I hardly see anything that say Made in USA. I do not take vacations in USA for similar reasons above just in opposite. And I bring apology if US companies can not compete with our low Canadian $.
Half of our exports and debt does not have USA origin and we are more immune to currency disparity in relation to Far East.
The only problem is when you take Futures position that comes in US$.
