I am sympathetic to the RobinHooder insurrection against the WS professionals, even as I believe all RobinHooders should be re-educated big-time and reduced to Cloud-ATM machines just as the WS mobs are. We know the RobinHooders are just having fun playing a computer game in between Netflix sessions interspersed with social-distance sex-texting (I doubt they are social-distancing at all, but give them the benefit of doubt), I do wonder what the total outstanding open short position be for the entire market, and how many careers on the line. We might be just a few margin calls away from the mother of all vortices. What the insurrection Hooders are doing is guerrilla warfare, classic style, marshaling and concentrating forces on carefully chosen enemy positions and let go of the mother of all attacks, just for laughs and loot, with active fund managers wondering which of their short positions are going to be tee-ed up next resulting in a bad morning, day, week, weeks, and months, until capitulation. Awesome. The tactic has much merit. The resulting chaos releases energy, surfaces opportunities, and flushes out interesting mathematical puzzles in the form of games. Shall tap into the Reddit information stream this day. Sort of like using LinkedIn as a dating service. Not designed for but perfect for the task not designed for.
