That cop had no reason to believe it was necessary to defend against deadly force.

Actually, he did. There was gunfire in the Capitol Building. There were pipe bombs that had been planted. There were calls to hang Mike Pence. People were yelling for the location of Pelosi and others. The cops knew this. And she had a backpack on. He had no way to know what was in it. You don't have to have an AR-15 strapped across your chest or a Glock in your hand to be armed.

Not only that, there had seconds before been at least five officers were deadly as hell standing right next to her and she was neither aggressive nor threatening.

Nope. The 5 cops were coming up the stairs and weren't standing right beside her. You have the sequence of events wrong. Granted, once she had fallen back, they were there, but...

As she climbed into the window, she was AMBUSHED. Not told to "Halt!" and in fact not one word was said to her.

Not ambushed. If she didn't see the guns pointed at her, the crowd was saying there were guns. From the videos, it certainly looks like the cop was yelling something at her before she came in the window. And there are reports that he did.

You really haven't even looked at the WAPO video, have you? In it, you can hear insurrectionists threatening the lives of legislators, as they searched for legislators.

You won't miss it when they show it at Trump's trial.

That woman wasn't threatening a soul, nor did she have any weapon.

Do you still not read? She had at least one weapon--a mob behind her with enough bodies to overwhelm. The mob had already flattened and killed one person simply by its numbers. And there was no way to know whether or not she or anyone else following her was armed.

Yes, on the other side of the door. The cops on the other side of the door could be restrained as long as the mob was on the other side of the door. She breached the final barricade--the red line. She broke into the inner sanctum. That's a game changer.

she was AMBUSHED. Not told to "Halt!"

I don't know where her hands were. Perhaps on the base of the window as she hefted herself in. So maybe there was time to get her attention and yell "stop or I'll shoot" before firing. Or not. But that hardly constitutes an "ambush" even an ambush in lower case letters. An ambush is when you're baiting the opposition to come in so you can get them, a trap. The cops desperately needed to keep the mob away from their protectees at all costs. It's preposterous to claim that the cops were baiting a mob with blood in their eyes and adrenaline in their veins to breach the last barricade.

She didn't deserve this.

She may not have deserved it, but she "asked for it." Just like someone who breaks into that missile silo. Or into the home of a sleeping NRA member with kids in the house.

The Capitol was closed to the public. But, had the mob stayed in the public areas and just demonstrated, the reaction would likely have remained restrained. Even had they shut down the solemn proceedings for a time. Closing in on protectees was asking for it.

Where is the investigation of this woman's death?

The investigation is assigned to the DC police. I assume it will take a while.

I'M PRETTY SURE had that been BLM, there would have been no gunshots.

I'm pretty sure that BLM would know not to break into a critical, even sacred, federal facility unless it was on a suicide mission. A mob of privileged White people, apparently not so much. If BLM hangers-on break into anything, it's soft targets with cool merch.
