Computers I started trading with a Macintosh and an account with Scottsdale. They both pretty much sucked for day trading. At present I run one pc with 64 megs Ram. Its loaded for dual boot, but I use NT. I use Real Tick III with a feed from SPComstock. On another PC with 32 megs Ram I run NewsWatch and two FREE IRC channels. I'll pop a web browser window on that if i need to check something momentarily, but during trading both these PC screens are wall to wall with real time news and data. 17 inch screens. Some days my better half sits with me and watches the news and the channels for hot stocks. I try to stay very focused on a few stocks that seem like better than average plays. Today it happened to be ASND and CUBE. I'm still very green, but ASND today was a great example of the use of Level two. Goldman was just eating up shares today. It was madness. The trader was just sucking up shares like no tomorrow and for most of the day managed to do his job without running the stock up. Honestly I got less out of it today than I woulda coulda shoulda. : ) Still learning. funk btw the second pc I bought from computer city retails for 1000 bux, its a CPQ 4540, monitor sold separately. It has fast modem, fast chip, enough ram, 2 megs VRAM, big hard drive, software, pretty good deal. Make that a VERY good deal, I found one a guy returned right in front of me, the open box got me another hundred bux off. And before you buy get yourself one of the cards they hand out for 5% off, that saved me another $45. A lot of PC for $865 plus tax. I will put in another 32 megs soon, as I like NT better than windows and it is more of a memory hog. The additional 32 may indeed be overkill. But you get NT, a browser, and a few other applications going and suddenly the origional 32 megs seems a bit light. Don't screw around with your monitor choice. Critical. 17" minimum and you need to make sure you can get a high resolution out of it without getting a flicker. ACER >>> Acerview 78ie, Love it. The first one i brought home inexplicably crapped out within ten minutes. But the second one is working beautifully. Extremely good price compared to similiar monitors. Hope this helps someone, as that is the sole intent. funk
