To be clear, I don't think that it is right for some people to have to shutdown while others take their business.

BUT my point was something else. Capitalism is like nature. Is the competition between lamb and lion a fair one? Well that depends on whom you ask. To the lion, it's perfectly fair. He is even willing to give the lamb a head start. But to the lamb it's an entirely different story.

So is nature fair? Many people who claim that we should let nature run its course do not hesitate to intervene and vaccinate their kids or seek treatment when nature deals them cancer. Nor do they agree with nature that pests are entitled to their crop and don't hesitate to smother theirs with manmade pesticides.

"Fair" is not something that we can achieve. The greatest good of the greatest number is the best that a democratic society can hope for.
