I don't think it's just the controller delaying autos, it seems to be lots of things in semis in autos.

While autos are a huge industry, in terms of units it doesn't compared to cell phones or perhaps even PCs.

Google says 92 million cars are made each year. Not that crazy. PCs are like 300 million and cell phones 1.4 billion.

I think they just didn't have their ducks in a row, and the entire semi industry is used to these occassional over and under capacity events, but autos are not.

MCHP CEO said this was the worst shortage environment he has seen in 42 years. So we just know as soon as the semiconductor stocks blow away revenue expectations because enough supply has come on line and they report GREAT NEWS, all the stock prices will plunge :-)
