He is a mere titular had of government, and appears to lack the competence to make decisions on his own. To the extent that may be the case--not suggesting that it is--he has a sober temperament, profound understanding of what it means to be president, and seasoned professionals feeding him recommendations. The days of impetuous and ignorant wrecking of the china shop are over. A cardboard cutout with an autopen in the Oval Office would be a vast improvement over that.
