You can count AsiaSat out as a customer for buying L-Star. Changes in frequencies and antenna would require nearly the same amount of time as a fast-track replacement. They will have to look elsewhere.

Thomas: Isn't that what Loral's longterm business strategy is? To move away from sat building to servicing and equity positions? L-Star 1, 2 may have just shortened the path. (Just a guess.)

I can't see 400 more layoffs, either, Thomas, so I agree with you. I have only the second-hand recounting of one employee's fears, which were valid for the first 300 layoffs. I will continue to press ear to the pavement.
