He was asked about "60 Minutes" and he said it looked really bad, but that "only confirms what we knew anyway" and "we" voted for him regardless. NOT! (This is the same Alter who helped Clinton cover his draft dodging in the 1992 campaign). Alter says 60 Minutes'producer Hewitt made the editing call - the same Hewitt who helped make sure that Nixon would look bad in the 1960 debates. Clearly then, Hewitt intended and made the original airing to be a major resusitation effort for Clinton. Actually, the only thing this episode confirms that "we already knew anyway" is: That the major media will report the truth on their candidates only when 1) they can't help it, or 2) it no longer matters, (see JFK1, Slick and Hillary Rodman).
