Delisting

RICHMOND, Calif., Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Neurobiological Technologies, Inc. (formerly Nasdaq SmallCap
symbol: NTIIC) reported that the company's common stock was delisted from The Nasdaq SmallCap Market
effective the close of business Tuesday, February 3, 1998.

The company did not meet the financial conditions necessary to remain listed on The Nasdaq Stock
Market(SM).

Neurobiological Technologies, Inc. (NTI) has been informed that its common stock will be eligible for
quotation on the OTC-Bulletin Board(R) beginning Wednesday, February 4, 1998 under the symbol NTII.

''While the stock's trading forum is important, I believe that NTI's recently announced data from a controlled
Phase II human clinical trial of Memantine is more significant,'' said Paul E. Freiman, president and chief
executive officer. ''We are now in discussions with potential individual and institutional investors in an effort to
obtain funding for continued development of the company's product candidates.''
