Ira's answer was poor to say the least. We do not need lessons from him, he needs to communicate more accurately as to what he is trying to say. His comment about teaching a shareholder was inappropriate and
shows poor judgement.

Perhaps according to the glossary, but every company I know of that reports eps does so after taxes. I would imagine the audited finances will do so as well.

Cheryl, The CEO is playing with words, earnings vs. eps. If you look at the definition of eps there, it is net income divided by o/s shares. Next look at "net income" which is earnings after taxes. Maybe he is trying to confude people by using the term earnings rather than eps. Whio cares about earnings. EPS is what everyone looks at.
