My impression is very communist country puts a premium on education. The US puts a premium on sports.
LOL, you really think "education" from a communist country means anything?

As for sports, East Germany was infamous for injecting their girls with male hormones. China blatantly bent the rules with regard to their gymnasts and swimmers, particularly minimum age requirements. The Soviet Union and now Russia proudly mixed sports with nationalism to the point where they were one and the same.

Your "impression" is the complete opposite of the truth, and it's obvious why that is.
