Management shake-up? Cool - just what MCOM needs. I'm back in at least until Autobahn ships. I use their current product constantly and love it. Never been a fan of the current management team though and have been waiting for movement in that area. Hopefully this is a sign that MCOM is getting much more focused.

Here is more on Don Wood's resignation...Metricom Inc. (MCOM)

METRICOM INC. said Donald Wood resigned as president, to join Palo Alto, Calif.-based Vanguard Venture Partners to focus investments in telecommunications and information technology. The company was not immediately available to discuss plans for naming a successor. The company also announced that Vulcan Ventures Inc., the investment organization for Paul G. Allen, has completed its purchase of 4.65 million shares of Metricom common stock. The $55.8 million transaction raises Vulcan's interest in Metricom to 49.5 percent. The problem with MCOM going after vertical markets is that you need a well trained, educated sales force to do it - something they don't have. Some that it takes ages to develop in the wireless data industry. Trust me on this one. I work in the industry.
