Iris Scanning at the Olympics

PRIVATE EYES How can you ski and shoot your way to biathletic gold in a country with gun laws as strict as Japan's? By passing through an iris scanner that IDs rifle-toting Olympians by digitally analyzing their eyes. This system offers the accuracy of a fingerprint but without the mess.

Any other biometrics at the Olympics?

James,

I'd like to hear the threads comments on that question myself James. I think that market knows about digital certs. Every computer on the net that has a Browser has at least one certificate. I think I have two on my system. VRSN is an IPO which generates some enthusium. They have been in the news. They were the first security feature for computers as far as I know. Certs identify the computer not the user as far as I know. Once the market figures that out, and how certs, HA-API, keyboards, senors, SET, biometrics, fingerprints, Fingerprints, and FINGERPRINTS are going to work together to identify the user, then we may see the type of action that VRSN is exhibiting. With all the biometric press thats we've been seeing, the time may be coming for the industry (IDX hopefully) to take off. Now all that being said, take it all with a grain, err, a TABLESPOON or two of salt.

I think that Brads post about volume and institutions applies to the above. I sure would like to see IDX participate on these market moving days. Randy should increase IDX's exposure to the press, the people see the other biometric manufactures names in the press, IDX shares the press with NEC, MORPHO, and Fujitsu. When you look at the type of press and web pages like members.aol.com IDX isn't there. People see the "big names" and as the market showed today, they were buying the big names... NIPNY +2 9/16
