Will Mutual Fund trading be allowed in the same manner as stocks? i.e., can they be bought on one day, then sold the next? or will there be a minimum holding period required? Also, will the funds from a sale of a MF be immediately available for new trades as it is in stocks? And finially, any info on comm charges?

Thanks,
Mike

I would like to keep a stripped down version of the quotes/order entry servers because my connection to the internet is very slow due to a proxy server on my side. Many people have this problem as well. Every byte less of graphics and fluff helps. This fact cannot be stressed too much: every extra byte, including cached logos, cause problems for us. Also, people using wireless or similar bandwidth impaired connections are affected.

Laura,

So we have all voted for a text only site or miminal graphs site. Could you do something about it?

I vote for the old look, too. It has a smaller window to see all of my quotes, and it's much easier to quickly scan the page for the info I want on a stock I'm trading. This new look reminds me of the graphics intensive Discover/Lombard site.

The new features are certainly welcome, but can't they be on a separate page? How many daytraders really want a link to company profiles and long term financial info on their trading page? I keep another window open for that. Same is true for charts. What the old look excels at is fast quotes and a lean, speedy order interface.

Datek, please let the numbers decide. After a few weeks, see how many people are getting quotes and doing their trading on the old versus the new sites.

Sorry, Peter, don't mean to overly criticize your handiwork, but something tells me that you were forced into implementing the pretty look. And, who knows, maybe this look will appeal more to the masses than to us fanatics who do hundreds of trades a year through you.
