It's all about your investment strategy/thesis, time and money commitment and monitoring results and 'Exit' if none of of that happens.

Yep. And the two words 'Kelly Criterion'. These things, the 'scientific deployment of capital in an ideal way', is not discussed enough I think. On the individual level, but also and perhaps more importantly, on the societal level.

Speaking of important things, I'm currently thinking about how to apply the KC to the game of golf.
I have a sense that the KC can be applied to almost any subject where there's an ideal way of allocation (in plain English: wherever there's an ideal outcome that can be clearly expressed and measured/otherwise tested).

Seems a bit remarkable to see how many companies icahn gets involved in that are mentioned on this board.
Icahn also does a lot of averaging down. I have followed him into two stocks that has turned out well for me. I am sorry that I did not follow him into another where i could have made several times my initial investment.
IEP is a ,major holding of mine and contributor to my cash flow so I think long and hard about adding something that icahn has a large stake in. The markets response to powells remarks seems very strange.
what did they expect him to say ? even more mystifying to me is that stocks that are paying good dividends would decline in response and that silver would go down. I continue to be heavily invested. Take my lumps on a day like today. and keep clipping coupons and selling some calls. I did reduce my twitter position to a stub amount. keeping all my pot and spac warrant exposure.
